LIVE ONLINE CLASSES

We’re really excited you’re here!

The Basics

  • Sign in to fitDegree, our software platform, from the top right of any page on our site. In the top search box, type Whole Yoga & Pilates to select your fitSpot.

  • Log in or Create an Account. (Your class credits from our previous software provider will be ready and waiting for you!)

  • From the schedule, select the online class you would like to attend. You will enter the class page with a description and more details. Register for the class by clicking the blue button. All classes are 1 credit.

  • Ten minutes before class time, a green button will appear that says Live Now - Tap to Join. Additionally, you will receive an email 15 minutes before class time with details on joining the online session.

  • PLEASE JOIN US WITH YOUR WEB BROWSER RATHER THAN THE FITDEGREE APP.

Before Your First Class

  • Choose your option from the Class Passes & Memberships page.

  • Please read our Studio Policies before attending classes with us.

  • We suggest joining 5–10 minutes before class to greet your instructor and classmates and get settled in.

  • Please log in from a device with a video camera and microphone. For your privacy, we do NOT record any of our online classes or share them anywhere in any way.

Set up Your Space

Create a haven for yourself! This space should have plenty of room to roll out your mat, with a strong WiFi signal and minimal background noise/distractions. (But if your dog or partner runs through or your kids yell, it’s OK!)

Make sure your device is plugged in—live-streaming can drain your battery quickly.

Place your screen so you can easily see it from your mat; remember that you’ll be able to hear your instructor’s cues too.

It’s perfectly possible to practice yoga without a mat, although many people are more comfortable with the support and grip a mat provides. We sell a couple of varieties in the studio—come have a look! You might also like to gather some props:

  • A blanket or large towel (maybe a few if it's a Restorative or Yin class)

  • A couple of yoga blocks if you have them; if not, heavy books or a step stool can work nicely

  • It’s nice to have a sturdy chair available, especially for Gentle Yoga, Restorative, and Hatha Yoga.

Get creative—this is your practice, and there’s no wrong way to do it!

Tech Help

When in doubt, turn it off and back on—really! Whether it’s the video feed, your microphone or audio, or, worst-case scenario, your whole computer, restarting often does the trick!

When you enter the virtual classroom, your microphone will be automatically muted to reduce audio feedback. (FitDegree operates on Zoom, but you don’t need to do anything with Zoom to join our classes—it happens automatically.) If you’d like to speak or ask a question, go right ahead and unmute yourself using the microphone icon at the bottom of your screen.

If your internet connection slows down during class, try turning off your video and follow along using only the audio.

We recommend Speaker view once class starts, as that will make the teacher most prominent on your screen, but you might like to use Gallery view to say hi and check in with other students.

Occasionally you may see the message “host has another meeting in progress,” even when you’ve used the correct link and are joining at the right time; this Zoom glitch is usually corrected by exiting the class and fitDegree and trying again.

Apple users:

We are not able to show online offerings on any Apple device with the fitDegree app, so we're just suggesting that folks use the web to access the studio. (Here's a bit of background on that situation.)

If you’re still having trouble,

Check out fitDegree’s User Guide or just send fitDegree support an email—they answer promptly and can usually help right away. Rest assured that if you have technical difficulty and aren’t able to participate in class you won’t be charged.
